Don’t even talk to me ’til I’ve had my speed …
Forget coffee — accused Sarah Lawrence sex-cult leader Larry Ray says cops illegally interrogated him when he answered questions before he could take his Adderall, which he really needed ’cause he’d downed NyQuil, Excedrin PM and a shot of vodka just three hours before his 6 a.m. arrest, according to a new court filing.
“I was taking Adderall four times a day, for many years, and had grown completely dependent on it,” the 61-year-old accused sex abuser said in the Manhattan federal court document.
“Without it, my brain felt foggy, my thoughts were confused, and I had difficulty concentrating. I would never choose to talk to anyone without taking my medication,’’ Ray insisted.
So when officers busted into his home around 6 a.m. and arrested him earlier this year, “I was exceedingly groggy and exhausted,’’ said the suspect — who is accused of preying on classmates of his daughter at Sarah Lawrence, making half a million dollars pimping out one co-ed.
“The night before I was arrested, I arrived home late, around one. Before going to sleep, I took Nyquil, Excedrin PM, and a shot of vodka. I did not get in bed until around 2:45 a.m.”
“My mouth was pasty,’’ Ray whined. “I hadn’t had my medication. I had difficulty when I tried to stand up.
“I asked if I could take my medication, and they said no,’’ he claimed, referring to the officers.
“I told them I did not want to talk at the beginning and repeated this several times later, saying that I was too groggy and didn’t want to keep talking,’’ he said.
Ray’s filings are part of a bid to have anything he said to the cops suppressed.
He also is asking in new court filings to be allowed out on bail.
