Ebo Mensah, a member of the Communication team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) should be blamed for the burning down of the Kantamanto market recently.
Speaking in an interview on Neat FM’s Me Man Nti program, Ebo Mensah said the recent outbreak of fire should be on the NDC.
“We were here when the Ofosu Ampofo said they will burn down and destroy things and kidnap people for the [NPP] government to be unpopular and to put pressure on Nana Addo,” he said.
Add on he said “When pedestrian shopping mall was burnt down a week to the elections I was there because I an a presiding member in that area. Per our investigations when a day before the fire outbreak a group of people pulls out their things from their shops.
Touching on the Kantamanto market fire outbreak he revealed that he was there because his nephew’s shop was there.
“Could you believe that when we got to Kantamanto the whole place was smelling petrol they don’t sell petrol in Kantamanto but the place was smelling Petrol the same thing happened at Pedestrian Shopping Mall,” he said.
Explaining further he said a day before the fire outbreak at Kantamanto a man posted on Facebook that they are matching to burn down the place. On seeing that he forward the message to some people and the 41 years old man has been arrested in the Volta Region.
Giving a vivid account of how the market was burnt down he said “They planted explosives in the market and small gas cylinder with the size of a fire extinguisher was also planted.”
